This is my final piece for the 1st semester and I wanted to put my everything into it. This took me hours to finish, first part was the sketching process which me a day to figure out the final look and the 2 days of painting and drying on repeat.
I decided a masterpiece of my original character 'Naked Lady', I chose her because in my previous school we also held an exhibit and she was one of my artworks that I had chose to display. I created her while I was in my darkest time and since I previously did her as a digital artwork, I thought I would do it again but in traditional.
So I call this piece 'Surrounded by Darkness'. It may not seem like the piece is in total darkness, but instead she's surrounded by flowers.
In my beginning of doing art, all I used to draw was flowers. I drew flowers and plants exactly how they looked in books, my notebook was filled with colors like I was a botanist. That's why I chose to bring back my botanist ways and drew Begonia. These beautiful flowers may be far from the 'Darkness' in the title but from what I searched is that 'Begonia' symbolizes 'dark thoughts' or 'dark thinking', which what I went through the first time I made 'Naked lady'.
